Sitting at home waiting to re-enter the world is like waiting in the green room before a show – it’s a bit stressful, a bit exciting, and a bit tedious, especially when the stage manager keeps coming back to say we’re going to be holding longer than expected.
Do some breathing exercises, stretches, go over your lines, get into character, and get ready for your return to the stage

I’m going to take a break from posting for a bit – hopefully I’ll be starting up expeditions again before too long; I’m just waiting for the covid numbers to drop back down to ‘acceptable risk’ levels again. Maybe next month?

Rugged individualism works for a while, but when the winter comes we need to work together and have each other’s backs to get through it, and making preparations ahead of time works much better than trying to scramble after the power is already out and the pipes are already frozen.
There are lessons to be learned from the current mess in Texas – as global climate change progress, these kinds of major storms are only going to get worse, so we need to prepare for them now

Throwback to Mardi Gras 2008 in Austin, TX – even back then I was interested in taking nudie photos that set a scene and told a story, and trying to differentiate myself from all the guys that just want to take pictures of boobs for boobs sake

Back when I first started The Nudie Mag, I imagined that I’d just take photos of myself, and perhaps that’d inspire other people to take their own photos, like a nudie Bob Ross, showing that if I can do this, anyone can.
As it’s gone on, it became more of a photography project with me taking photos of everyone, which I do enjoy, but as this covid hiatus stretches on and I’m not able to be out exploring and taking photos, it’s a good time to remind you that even if you haven’t got a professional photographer, even if your best camera is on your cell phone, even if you’ve never done anything like this before, you can do it if you want to do it.
Especially when the weather gets warmer, find somewhere secluded and get naked on your own, or with your partner, or your friends (in a covid bubble, being careful to stay safe). Remember my motto, ‘even if you don’t get any good shots, at least you got to have fun runing around naked’

It’s Valentine’s day, so show some LOVE – not just romantically, but love yourself, your neighbors, the people who live and work in your community, your pets, and people around the world.
Show love by having each other’s backs, and protecting those that need protecting, especially those at most risk from covid-19, immigrants (and US citizens) still being deported by ICE even after being put on hold, black people still being murdered with impunity by the police, and Asians being attacked in retaliation for the so-called “China virus.”
With the monumentally corrupt acquittal yesterday likely emboldening the worst of us, it’s more important than ever for the best of us to use love to stand up against hate.
